Today in class we did a Christmas quiz and Mr.Maksymchuk showed us a Isometric Drawing Tool on http://illuminations.nctm.org/ActivityDetail.aspx?ID=125.

Monday was a "cold day", I stayed home and slept. I'm assuming that if anybody came to math, that they just worked on accelerated math, notebook questions, or work they had in other subjects.

Math test!

Hey whoever looks at this, so if you weren't here today for a good reason I'm sure here's what you missed. We had a math test on chapter 4, it wasn't so bad. I'd reccomend you look over your notes if you still have to write the test. We were allowed to use a spreadsheet which helps a lot! Also don't forget for the test you'll need to know PST is 5% and GST is 7% . Anyways that's about it, good luck and merry christmas!

In class today we did our usual routine, we started the day off by reading the announcements. Then started with mental math #42, during mental math Mr. Maksymchuk got distracted and showed as a pretty neet website (national library virtual manipulatives). We then went over our Project "coffee shop" it is still due Friday, Nov.21/08.

I forgot to blog on Fridays class so, I'm doing it right now. On Fridays class Mr. Maksymchuk assigned the class a porject to do with owning a coffee shop. To get more information on this project go to page 192 in math text book.

Today Mr.Maksymchuk reminded us that our due date for Acc. Math is Friday and the goal is 20 objectives. We also had to finish Exploration 4, 1-9 before the end of class

Hey pilat, so here's some things you may need to know for the exam or just to know in case you forgot. In chapter one we learned about taxes, net pay, gross pay etc. Don't forget to find net pay for Canadian pension plan, Income tax, employment insurance you times them by your gross pay then find the difference and minus it. Once you have done that to all your taxes/deductions you will have your net pay. Oh yeah and don't forget the military time/clock.

In this unit I have learned a great deal of mathematial proccess. I now know how to convert minutes and hours. I can use a spread sheet properly.We did metric clocks. We also learned more about what kind of deductions come off our pay check ( cpp.ei,income tax). I had alot of fun in this unit with Mr. Max. I hope I have just as much fun in the next unit!!

Today Mr. Max told us that we have to make a "selection reflection". The picture is pretty self explanatory, and we also got back our computer privileges today:)

Jenn, you just did your first math test and there are some things you should work on before the exam in January. You should know the definitions since you forgot them on the test. You also need to work on net pay... like remembering what to do, and double checking your answers. You should practice the time card questions more too. I think that's the biggest thing you should work on. Practice these sorts of questions and you will pass the final exam

What went down today

So today in class we did our first test, in math at least. It wasn't overly hard or anything crazy but I would reccomend you look over your stuff if you were not in class today for the test and still have to write it. If you have been in class and paying attention in class you should do decent at least. For me I can say I know I did bad...I never finished the test and all the long questions. I'm stupid so it took me like half an hour for one question. That is why I ran out of time and didn't do good, but I wouldn't worry if I were you.
So anyways this picture reminds me of how I usually feel before a test. So here's a picture to make you smile if you think you did bad, stressing out or maybe just need to smile. Worked for me, so enjoy! P.S. For anyone who was not here for the test and still has to take it...GOOD LUCK and you'll do fine!

Today we came into class and shut our cell phones off, then we sand O'Canada with Mr. Max. we then did mental math. we completed our exploration 6 and 7. once we finished that we handed it in for marks.

On Thursday we had a substitude teacher named Mrs.Rodgers and we didnt treat her very well. Most people were playing games I think because i was. We where suposed to be working on

Oh my! Is it just me or does anyone else not know how to do exploration 6? because I am having major difficulties here. Kay on question one when I divide the $395.00 by just IT which is 30% I get $1316.66 repeating! So i know that doesn't make sense because a deduction doesn't get higher. I'm actually so confused...

Mr. Max wants us to use 30% for income tax 4% for canadian pension plan and 2.5% for EI.
