Tower of Hanoi

Indeed, Jen is correct. There is a mathematical way to determine the minimum number of moves. I really recommend playing the 'physically' with blocks instead of electronically, but if all you have is a computer, the game can be found and played by following this link:

Selection Reflection

Osama, try to remember that E.I. is 2.5%, C.P.P. is 4% and Income Tax is 30% and some terms in your math glossary.

Selection Reflection

Dear Carli,
Congrats on finishing your first unit in math! But some things you should go over are some terms in your math glossary, time cards, and calculating deductions.

Selection Reflection

Dear Christine,
For the final exam I should probably remember most of the definitions, and how to work the time sheets. I had trouble with this unit so I need to make sure I know how to do it when its time to write the exam. Make sure to remember your taxes, EI- 2.5%, Tax-30% and CPP- 4%.
Have a good rest of the semester! Good Luck!

Selection Reflection

Itchy Mitchie, congratulations you just had your first math test. A few things you will have to remember from chapter one section "wages and salaries,” are gross pay, net pay, keeping time cards, and the fifteen-minute hour deduction. I also advise you to look over all of this and your math glossary, every two weeks so you don’t forget.
P.S. E.I. is 2.5%, C.P.P. is 4% and Income Tax is 30%

Selection Reflection

Dear Rebecca, during this first unit you have learned about wages and salaries. You need to remember to do all of your homework, and complete the assignments that are given to you. Over the past unit you have learned about investigating career options, income and expenses, gross pay, time cards, payroll deductions, and balancing budgets.

Selection Reflection

Tim you just did your first math test you should work on some stuff for the exam so you don't fail. You have to work on your math glossary, hand in your work, and do your HOMEWORK!!

Selection Reflection

I learned in this unit evertything from wages and saleries to deductions off of gross pay to get the net pay. I learned all the deductions there are such as: E.I. C.P.P. and Income Tax. I learned how much percent they were too. E.I. is 2.5%, C.P.P. is 4% and Income Tax is 30%

Selction Reflecton

Dear Chet, This is all that you will have forgoten for chapter one selection. you will probly have forgoten that you will have to know your percents and how to do them. you will also have to know what gross pay and net pay and how to figure them out. You will also have to know how to figure out how to keep time cards and do pay roll duductions. look over all of the explorations (1-8) before the EXAM. so that you can do good. and pass. You should get to know the deductions because you probly forgot them. you should also remember the net pay percent deduction, 30% for income tax, 4% for CPP, and 2.5% for EI.

selection reflection

Dear Caleb, this is all of what you will have forgotten from the chapter one section "wages and salaries". Gross pay, net pay, keeping time cards, payroll deductions, new terms, and explorations. look over all of this before the FINAL EXAM. You will have to remember how to do al of this and remember all of the new terms and what not. This is here for you to look at and get the information for what to study for the exam. there is also net pay percent deductions,30% for income tax,4% for CPP, and 2.5% for EI.

Section Reflection

Selection reflection

Hey pilat, so here's some things you may need to know for the exam or just to know in case you forgot. In chapter one we learned about taxes, net pay, gross pay etc. Don't forget to find net pay for Canadian pension plan, Income tax, employment insurance you times them by your gross pay then find the difference and minus it. Once you have done that to all your taxes/deductions you will have your net pay. Oh yeah and don't forget the military time/clock.

selection reflection

In this unit I have learned a great deal of mathematial proccess. I now know how to convert minutes and hours. I can use a spread sheet properly. We did metric clocks. We also learned more about what kind of deductions come off our pay check ( cpp.ei,income tax). I had alot of fun in this unit with Mr. Max. I hope I have just as much fun in the next unit!!

Oct.6/08

Today Mr. Max told us that we have to make a "selection reflection". The picture is pretty self explanatory, and we also got back our computer privileges today:)

Selection Reflection

Jenn, you just did your first math test and there are some things you should work on before the exam in January. You should know the definitions since you forgot them on the test. You also need to work on net pay... like remembering what to do, and double checking your answers. You should practice the time card questions more too. I think that's the biggest thing you should work on. Practice these sorts of questions and you will pass the final exam

What went down today

So today in class we did our first test, in math at least. It wasn't overly hard or anything crazy but I would reccomend you look over your stuff if you were not in class today for the test and still have to write it. If you have been in class and paying attention in class you should do decent at least. For me I can say I know I did bad...I never finished the test and all the long questions. I'm stupid so it took me like half an hour for one question. That is why I ran out of time and didn't do good, but I wouldn't worry if I were you.
So anyways this picture reminds me of how I usually feel before a test. So here's a picture to make you smile if you think you did bad, stressing out or maybe just need to smile. Worked for me, so enjoy! P.S. For anyone who was not here for the test and still has to take it...GOOD LUCK and you'll do fine!
P.P.S. What does ps and pps and such mean? I mean the abbreviation, I know what it means but serious I'm curious. That rhymes...Also it's really cool how many people around the world visit our blog! Hey there, and goodbye now!
